The YouthCARECanberra Program is managed by Communities@Work. This program employs a Youth Outreach Worker who is responsible for new referrals, service provision, support, advocacy and co-ordination to support Canberra’s homeless and at risk young people.

The Youth Outreach Worker is responsible for providing Youth outreach support to the most vulnerable youth, either from domestic violence, homelessness or other issues in the Canberra region.

The YouthCARECanberra program is run based on "The Streetwork Model".This model is based on the idea of providing social services where a particular group of people live or congregate, on the premise that these people are often reluctant to seek help from traditional service providers.

Support services identified in this model align well with Communities@Work's LIFT and Galilee School Program outcomes and will form the basis for the operations of the YouthCARECanberra Program. These include teaching skills and forming alliances to support life skills development, health and wellbeing, education and housing.

The YouthCARECanberra Program is funded by "Supporting Canberra Street Kids LTC" a group of local business people who, through many fundraising events and activities, fully fund the program.
