We are committed to providing you with the highest levels of protection for your privacy.

 

About us
Galilee is a not-for-profit organisation based in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. We are a service provider to children and young people who are at risk. We provide Foster Care, Supervision & Transport Services and education services at the Galilee School. We collect donations to assist us in the provision of services.

 

Your personal information
Personal information held by us may include your name, date of birth, current and previous addresses, telephone or mobile phone number, email address, bank account or credit card details, occupation, volunteer details and donation amounts. We may also hold information on the events you participated in with Galilee.

 

How we collect personal information
We collect personal information in a number of ways, including:

  • directly from you, for example, when you provide information by phone, on donation forms, or when you submit your personal details through our websites (eg. Online donations or volunteering), and

  • from publicly available sources of information.

 

How we use your personal information
Your personal information may be used to:

  • verify your identity;

  • assist you to donate to us;

  • assist you to volunteer with us;

  • administer and manage those services, including collecting agreed donations;

  • research and develop our services;

  • gain an understanding of your communication needs in order for us to provide you with better information; and

  • maintain and develop our business systems and infrastructure, including testing and upgrading of these systems.

 

Also, your personal information is collected so that we can send information and appeals to you (including by way of direct mail, telemarketing, email, SMS and MMS messages). This is to keep you informed of our services, seek donations and provide you with information.

When we disclose your personal information
In order to deliver the information you require, we may disclose your personal information to organisations outside of Galilee. Your personal information is disclosed to these organisations only in relation to us providing our services to you.

  • donation collection;

  • information technology services;

  • installation, maintenance and repair services;

  • marketing and telemarketing services;

  • market research; and

  • website usage analysis.

 

We take reasonable steps to ensure that these organisations are bound by confidentiality and privacy obligations in relation to the protection of your personal information.

 

In addition, we may disclose your personal information to:

  • credit-reporting and fraud-checking agencies;

  • our professional advisers, including our accountants, auditors and lawyers;

  • government and regulatory authorities and other organisations, as required or authorised by law; and

  • organisations who manage our business and corporate strategies, including those involved in a transfer/sale of all or part of our assets or business (including accounts and trade receivables) and those involved in managing our corporate risk.

Galilee assumes no responsibility or liability for the privacy policies of other internet sites, including those linked through Galillee’s own internet site.
